Please note that if you are a registered patient of Beechwood Medical Centre then SOME of the Travel Vaccinations are available on the NHS. If you are a private patient then this service is chargeable. As always, please check with the Travel Nurse as not all vaccinations may be free to the patient.
Here at Beechwood Medical Centre we offer a travel clinic to help you with your holiday plans. In line with the NHS new guidelines most travel vaccines are now chargeable. If you are planning a trip then we can help you. Please call the main surgery reception number on 01422 305970 and speak to one of the reception staff. You will be booked a free telephone consultation with our travel nurse who will discuss where you are going, give you the relevant advice and explain the vaccines that you will need. The travel nurse will also explain to you the cost of these vaccines and the requirements for when you need to receive these.
If you wish to go ahead with the protection then you will need to call the surgery back and make the payment for the vaccines you require. You will also be booked a face to face appointment with the travel nurse who will administer these vaccines. The travel nurse will decide how long the appointment length will be dependent on how many people are travelling. We must stress that you must make the payment in advance of your appointments.
A normal appointment length will be about 20 minutes but will increase depending on the number of people in your party. You can usually obtain a travel clinic appointment within 2 to 4 weeks but please call the travel nurse in plenty of time so as not to miss an appointment opportunity. A number of vaccines can be difficult to obtain and may take a little time. Therefore please do not leave until the last minute.
The charges below are for each vaccine and they DO NOT include the Private Nurse Appointment required to administer these which is £25 per appointment. The price for the nurse appointment may rise if several family members are required to be vaccinated and therefore it is vital that you discuss this with the travel nurse first.
