Did you know that community pharmacies can offer treatment for seven common conditions without you needing to see a GP? Pharmacists can now assess and provide you with medications (including antibiotics) to treat your:
- Earache
- Impetigo
- Infected insect bites
- Shingles
- Sinusitis
- Sore throat
- Urinary tract infections (UTIs) for women aged 16 to 64
Available on the high-street, your community pharmacists have the skills and training to treat you for these conditions. You don’t need to make an appointment and private consultations are often available in the pharmacy.
Community pharmacists will direct you to other local services if they think you need to see someone else.
So don't wait for minor health concerns to get worse – think pharmacy first and be seen by your local pharmacy team.
