You can now book appointments online. To sign up to use this service please contact the surgery. Once you have your username and password click the Systm Online Link Below to access this service.
You can also book appointments using our 24 hour automated appointment system. Please call the surgery number and then choose option 1. You do not need to register for this service but you will need your date of birth and telephone number (mobile or landline).
We now offer some evening appointments on a Monday to Friday between 6.30pm and 8.00pm. These are pre-bookable only and are with either a GP a Practice Nurse or a Prescribing Pharmacist. Please ask at Reception for details.
Appointments may be made by telephone on 01422 305 970 or by calling into the surgery. Patients may express a preference of practitioner for routine appointments only.
Routine appointments can be made up to two weeks in advance, which will enable us to offer you an appointment at a time more suitable to your requirements. If you think you'll need a reminder nearer the date we can text you if you would like that.
If you cannot keep an appointment, please inform us as soon as possible as not informing us can see these appointments being wasted. You can cancel your appointment online, by e-mail, by text, using the Mjog Smart App, on the telephone or in person.
Lots of appointments and clinicians time is being wasted by patients not cancelling appointments that they no longer need. We need you to all help with this.
Patients who persistently fail to attend without giving reasonable notice may be removed from the practice list.
If you work full time or shift patterns please ensure you book your appointments in advance to ensure a time/date/clinician best appropriate to your needs.
Other Appointment Information
If your problem is urgent then you may be seen the same day. A number of appointments are retained for urgent use. Please help the receptionists by answering their questions so they can establish if your problem is urgent.
A Duty Doctor will operate every day (Monday to Friday) and this GP will oversee all clinical operations. The Duty Doctor can see or speak to a person on the day if that is deemed necessary.
Patients who request a consultation that have not been seen within the previous three years may be offered extra examinations and inquiries.
Patients aged 75 and over who request a consultation and have not been seen in the last 12 months may also be offered extra examinations and enquiries.
All patients will be nominated a GP to look after their care but patients can still see whichever GP or Clinician they wish.

Telephone Consultations
We know it can be difficult to get an appointment at your GP surgery.
Part of the reason for this is that many face-to-face appointments are used for problems that could be better dealt with over the telephone.
Similarly, patients who just want to discuss something over the telephone have to queue up for a face to face appointment because they have difficulty getting a telephone consultation.
In response to this, we are introducing a telephone consultation service to help you get the appointment you need much easier.
The surgery will now be offering structured telephone consultations, Monday to Friday as well as patient choice appointments, where the patient can choose whether to have a telephone consultation or a face to face consultation. When you call the surgery, if you are offered this service, your details will be taken and a Clinician will call you back either in the morning or in the afternoon. Morning telephone calls are done between 8.30am and 12.00pm and afternoon calls are done between 1.00pm and 6.00pm. The telephone calls are booked into a list and they do not have specific times. A face to face appointment is time specific. This Clinician has full access to your records and Beechwood administration services and can organize whatever is needed just as your usual Clinician does.
If you need to be seen by a clinician, the Clinician you speak to will book you a face-face appointment with an appropriate person at Beechwood Medical Centre later that same day or in a couple of days time if it is not urgent. This may not be a GP
Children under 2 and patients with visual conditions such as rashes will be directly booked into a face-to-face appointment, unless you specifically request a telephone call.
If you have any queries about the telephone service, please contact reception.
